Project

Overview

The Polar-Processing-Unit is a cutting-edge facility tailored for stringent cold storage needs, leveraging advanced structural engineering.

  • Scope Structural Consultant
  • Total Area16.000 S.q ft.
  • Project Cost ₹5.6 Crores

Features:

  • Basement + Ground + 4 Floors (2B+G+4)
  • Two Basement Levels
  • Cold storage units maintaining temperatures as low as -15°C
  • Year: 2024 (Ongoing)
  • Location: New Delhi

  • The project includes the design of a robust foundation and basement, followed by a functional ground floor and upper floors (1 to 4). The upper floors are equipped with advanced HVAC systems capable of maintaining temperatures as low as -15°C, supported by high-efficiency insulation to minimize thermal loss. Additionally, real-time temperature monitoring and control systems are integrated to enhance overall energy efficiency. The structural design and detailing are executed with precision using STAAD and Tekla, while reinforced concrete design is meticulously handled using RCDC.

  • Nord Engineers' experienced team ensures innovative and robust solutions for complex cold storage requirements, demonstrating their capability to deliver high-value projects.

Challenge

Designing a Robust Foundation for a Multi-Level Structure (2B+G+4) Constructing a building with two basement levels and multiple upper floors required a robust foundation to ensure structural stability while addressing soil conditions and load-bearing requirements.

Solution

The foundation was meticulously designed using advanced geotechnical analysis, factoring in soil composition and load distribution. Reinforced concrete footings and retaining walls were integrated to handle the pressures of the multi-level structure effectively.
